About

Michigan Celebrates Marriage is an initiative of the Michigan Catholic Conference, in collaboration and coordination with the seven Roman Catholic dioceses in the State of Michigan.

Michigan Celebrates Marriage provides a precise understanding of why marriage between one man and one woman is important for families, communities and children. This website hosts informational material that will be of use to parish communities and to the public in an effort to promote a Year for Marriage, culminating in the Holy Father Pope Francis’s visit to Philadelphia in September 2015 for the World Meeting of Families.

Throughout this Year for Marriage, individuals and communities will participate in a number of activities and efforts to celebrate the institution of marriage as the union of a man and a woman. The resources that are provided here, which include links to several documents from both the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Vatican, along with a Year for Marriage prayer (in English and in Spanish), may be of assistance to those seeking the truth about marriage.

This Michigan Celebrates Marriage website will continue to be updated leading up to the September 2015 gathering in Philadelphia. Please use the contact form above with any questions or ideas that you may have. And, follow this educational campaign’s efforts on Twitter and Facebook in order to share this important content with friends and family.
